Notre Dame means Old Lady. The Notre Dame is a Roman Catholic cathedral famous for its French Gothic architecture. Because of its architectural beauty it attracts millions of visitors from all over the world. Constructing the cathedral took almost 200 years, as construction started in 1163 and was completed in 1345. The result is beautiful however. Many people might know the Old Lady from Disney’s animated movie the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
